My congratulations on your engagement and decision to marry .. or your wish to hold a Renewal of Vows Ceremony.
Wherever in the world you may come from you are welcome to marry in Australia. Whether it be one of Sydney’s beautiful parks, spectacular harbour or beaches, South/North Coasts, Blue Mountains, even your own backyard - have love I will travel and be delighted to officiate your ceremony.
Need to Knows: All explained in full detail during our first meeting face to face, phone, email or skype.
Marriage Ceremony: A Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) must be lodged with your Celebrant no later than one calendar month prior to the marriage ceremony. The NOIM can be downloaded here.
Overseas couples may need to have the NOIM signed by a Notary Public or Australian Consular or Diplomatic Officer in their own country.
Your original birth certificate, or Passport must be produced and sighted, details added to the NOIM.
If previously married, a certificate of divorce or death certificate of spouse must be produced and sighted (original copy) prior to your ceremony.
Both parties to the marriage must be over 18 years of age.
As there can only be one legal marriage in Australia, a renewal of vows / reaffirmation ceremony or Aussie Celebration can be arranged – there are no legal requirements, so the ceremony may contain the elements and words you would like to feature including any rituals or customs to reflect your cultural background.
A presentation certificate, recording and booklets containing your ceremony script are presented.
An official marriage certificate can be ordered from BDM after the marriage has been registered, and I am happy to organise and collect on your behalf – download the application for official marriage certificate here.
For some countries an Apostille Stamp from DFAT will be required which verifies that your Official Marriage Certificate is authentic.
